Jim Wittekind has spent over two decades working with bodies — starting as a Doctor of Physical Therapy and evolving into the founder of Movement Alchemy.

That clinical foundation is still in the room with you: it's what makes this work precise, safe, and grounded in a deep understanding of how the human system organizes itself.

But this isn't physical therapy. This is something that grew out of it — and beyond it.

Jim's work integrates manual recalibration, breathwork, and somatic awareness into a whole-body experience that addresses what most approaches miss: the pattern underneath the pattern. FAQ

Is this like massage?

  • Not at all. Treatments like massage, myofascial release, and Rolfing aim to normalize fascia and soft tissue. This works on the entire system -- how your brain senses your body's position in gravity and how your body responds. Many times, problems with soft tissue are the result of a system that needs recalibration. There's hands-on contact, yes -- but the intention is recalibration, not relaxation or fixing the tissue. That said, deep relaxation is often exactly what happens.

Do I need to have done the Movement Alchemy digital programs first?

  • No. The session stands completely on its own. If you have done the journeys, the session will take you experientially into territory the programs point toward. If you haven't, it's a powerful entry point into understanding your own pattern.

How long is a session?

  • 75 minutes.

What should I wear?

  • Loose fitting clothing or, if applicable, a sports bra works best -- allowing access for body work. Hands-on skin contact is most effective for guiding the system, and you'll be draped with a sheet throughout. All personal areas remain covered at all times. If you prefer to have the work done through your clothing, that's what we'll do. Either way, you'll be fully supported and at ease.

Will I feel it right away?

  • Most people feel significant shifts within the session itself. Rooted, expanded, freed. Some feel disoriented at first -- in the best way -- as the system adjusts to more accurate information and you release what you thought was normal. Some experience emotional release. What's consistent is the recognition that something real and expansive just occurred.

How often should I come?

  • That depends on your system and your goals. Some people find one session opens a door they can then walk through on their own with the digital programs. Others return regularly as part of their self-care practice. Jim can speak to this directly after your first session.
